Below is a short post from one of our participants this week:

Besides getting clean what is the best part of showering? Having your own rockstar concert obviously? Music is a part of everyone’s life. Whether God has given you the gift of singing or not when a song you like begins to play you sing along. For some song takes the place of other senses. You don’t have to see the music on paper you have to feel it. Last night we heard the Salvation Army School for the Blind Children’s Choir sing. It brought me to tears. Listening to these children praise Jesus’ name through song without any limitations was a glorious thing. One young man and his ability to sing struck me in particular. Nigel, a fully blind twelve year old, has been singing since birth he says. When asked if he was visually impaired or fully blind, he replied, “When I was younger I had eyesight, but now I thank God because this gift he has given me is better than eyesight.” Even when he has lost his ability to see which to most of us is quite vital he still sings praises to God ceaselessly. His talent surpasses his years and he gives all the glory to God. The next time you are having your own shower concert remember to give the praise to God for you ability to see and sing. After hearing him worshiping our maker I think that we are the ones who are limited in giving praises to God.
